Claws Ninja Build Overview
The Claws Ninja Build is the second dedicated Ninja build in our roster, filling a different niche than the Ninjutsu Kusarigama. While Kusarigama plays at range, Claws are an in-your-face weapon that rewards aggressive play and perfect dodge timing.
Claws have the fastest attack speed tied with Dual Swords, but with one critical advantage: innate Dexterity scaling. This means your Ninjutsu investment directly powers your melee damage, unlike Kusarigama where Dexterity primarily helps the ranged Ninjutsu tools. Every point of Dexterity makes your Claws hit harder AND your Ninjutsu more effective.
The gameplay loop revolves around the Ninja combat style's Mist Step. Mist Step through enemy attacks, counter with a Low Stance Claws combo (3-4 hits in under a second), then Mist Step away before the enemy recovers. Each combo string contributes to Poison accumulation thanks to the Claws' natural affinity and Snakebite coating. Once Poisoned, enemies take continuous damage and their attack patterns become readable — slower animations, telegraphed recovery.
Paralysis Groundfire traps complement the aggressive playstyle. Drop a trap, bait the enemy into it, then unleash a full High Stance combo during the paralysis window. This trap-and-burst pattern is devastating against human bosses.
The build demands precise timing and enemy knowledge. Claws' range is the shortest in the game — you must be in the enemy's face to deal damage. But the reward is the fastest kill times against bosses once you master the Mist Step rhythm.
Stat Distribution

Dexterity at 55 is the core investment — it powers Claws damage, Ninjutsu capacity, Ninjutsu power, and status accumulation all at once. Skill at 25 provides secondary Claws scaling. Courage at 25 ensures Ki recovery for sustained aggression. Heart at 20 gives an adequate Ki pool. Constitution is low at 15 because this build relies on Mist Step evasion rather than tanking hits. Stamina and other stats are minimal.

Grace of Marici reduces detection range and increases damage when attacking from behind or from Mist Step. This directly synergizes with the aggressive dodge-counter playstyle. Nekomata guardian spirit provides Dexterity bonus and enhanced Ninjutsu Power. Kusarigama as secondary provides mid-range options for encounters where Claws' short range is too dangerous. Light armor only — this build needs maximum dodge speed and Mist Step distance.

Playstyle Tips
- 1.Mist Step is your primary defensive and offensive tool. Practice Mist Stepping through attacks and immediately counter-attacking in Low Stance
- 2.Low Stance Claws hit 4 times in under a second. Each hit applies Poison accumulation. Most regular enemies are Poisoned before your combo ends
- 3.Paralysis Groundfire → bait enemy into trap → High Stance full combo is your boss-killing pattern. Practice the trap placement
- 4.Leaping Shadow from Mist Step does massive single-hit damage. Use it as a punish after dodging big boss attacks
- 5.Backstab damage with Grace of Marici bonus is enormous. Use Catwalking to approach from behind whenever possible
- 6.Kusarigama secondary is your safety net. Switch to it for ranged encounters or against enemies with dangerous close-range grabs
- 7.This build is glass cannon. If you get hit, you likely die. Invest time in learning enemy patterns — there is no margin for error
- 8.Nekomata enhances all Ninjutsu tools. Use Storm Kunai to interrupt dangerous enemy animations from range before closing with Claws
