Nioh 3 Endgame Build Guide
Complete Nioh 3 Endgame Build guide with optimal stat allocation, equipment choices, skill selections, and combat tips for hard difficulty hybrid gameplay.
Endgame Build Overview
The Endgame Build is the pinnacle of Nioh 3 character optimization, designed specifically for the highest difficulty tiers: Dream of the Nioh and the Underworld depths. It combines the Switchglaive's Magic scaling with a full Ninjutsu utility toolkit and the Grace of Tsukuyomi set's unique spell regeneration mechanic to create a self-sustaining elemental damage machine.
The core mechanic is Confusion. By rotating between Fire and Lightning Familiars, you apply two different elements to enemies simultaneously, triggering Confusion — a status that massively increases all damage taken and cripples Ki recovery. In Dream of the Nioh, where enemies have enormous health pools, Confusion is not optional; it is the difference between a 30-second boss kill and a 5-minute slog.
Grace of Tsukuyomi is what makes this build sustainable. Its set bonus regenerates Onmyo spell uses when you kill enemies with Yokai abilities (guardian spirit attacks or Soul Cores). This means your Familiars and buff talismans effectively become unlimited in missions with regular enemy encounters. Pleiades Talisman accelerates Amrita gain, which fills your guardian spirit gauge faster, which triggers more Yokai abilities, which regenerates more spells. The entire build feeds itself in a loop.
This build requires specific endgame drops, a fully leveled character, and deep knowledge of all the game's systems. Do not attempt it before Dream of the Wise at minimum — the Grace of Tsukuyomi pieces do not drop before that difficulty tier.
Stat Distribution
* Target stats at level 150. Adjust based on your current progress.
Magic at 60 is non-negotiable — it scales Switchglaive damage, Onmyo power, and Onmyo capacity all at once. Dexterity at 30 is the secondary priority because it powers the Ninjutsu utility toolkit (Power Pill, Quick-Change Scroll, Catwalking) and increases their effectiveness. Courage at 30 provides the Ki recovery needed for extended Switchglaive combo strings. Constitution at 20 gives a baseline HP pool — in Dream of the Nioh, most boss attacks will kill you in 1-2 hits regardless of HP, so investing more than 20 has diminishing returns. The remaining stats are left minimal.
Equipment
| Slot | Item |
|---|---|
| Primary Weapon | Switchglaive |
| Secondary Weapon | Dual Swords |
| Armor Set | Grace of Tsukuyomi |
| Guardian Spirit | Genbu |
Grace of Tsukuyomi is the entire reason this build works. Its set bonus regenerates Onmyo spell uses when you kill enemies with Yokai abilities. Without it, you run out of Familiars and buffs halfway through a mission and the build collapses. Genbu guardian spirit adds flat Magic and provides a defensive burst counter — in Dream of the Nioh, having a defensive option when bosses catch you mid-cast is essential. Dual Swords as secondary provide the fastest attack speed for rapidly applying elemental status when Familiars alone are not enough.
Skills
- Flux II — critical for Ki recovery during stance switches
- Ki Pulse: Heaven — dodge-cancel Ki Pulse in High Stance
- Switchglaive Mastery — passive damage increase
Playstyle Tips
- 1.Do not attempt this build before Dream of the Wise. Grace of Tsukuyomi pieces only drop in that difficulty tier and above
- 2.The Confusion loop is your primary damage mechanic: summon Fire + Lightning Familiars, attack to apply both elements, enemy enters Confusion, deal massively increased damage
- 3.Grace of Tsukuyomi regenerates spell uses when you kill with Yokai abilities. Use your guardian spirit burst attack on weakened enemies to trigger the regeneration
- 4.Pleiades Talisman → Extraction Talisman → Guardian Spirit kills → Tsukuyomi regen. This loop keeps your spells effectively infinite during missions with regular enemies
- 5.Dual Swords secondary is for rapid elemental application when Familiars are not applying status fast enough. Their attack speed builds Confusion quickly
- 6.In the Underworld, buff uptime is everything. Pre-cast all your buffs before entering fog gates and refresh them during any safe window
- 7.Quick-Change Scroll is not optional at Dream of the Nioh difficulty. Most boss attacks deal 80-100% of your HP. Without Quick-Change, one mistake ends the run
- 8.Rotate between Fire and Lightning as your default Familiar pair. Use Water Familiar only against fire-immune enemies as a swap option
