Nioh 3 Fists Berserker Guide

BHardHybrid

Complete Nioh 3 Fists Berserker guide with optimal stat allocation, equipment choices, skill selections, and combat tips for hard difficulty hybrid gameplay.

Fists Berserker Overview

The Fists Berserker is for players who want non-stop aggression. Fists have the fastest attack speed in Nioh 3, chaining hits faster than any other weapon. Each individual hit deals low damage, but the sheer volume of attacks adds up quickly — and because you are hitting so often, you apply status effects and stagger small enemies almost instantly.

The playstyle revolves around staying in an enemy's face and never letting up. Low Stance gives you the fastest dodges in the game combined with rapid jabs that keep you safe through constant repositioning. When an enemy is staggered or recovering, switch to High Stance for charged strikes that deal the build's best burst damage. The fists also have a unique mechanic: their grapple attacks can be chained from certain combo finishers, dealing massive damage to Ki-broken enemies.

This build earns its B-tier rating not because it is weak, but because it is punishing. At close range with low HP, every enemy attack threatens to kill you. You need strong knowledge of every boss pattern and the discipline to dodge-attack-dodge continuously without getting greedy. When piloted by an experienced player, the Fists Berserker can clear content faster than most A-tier builds — it just demands more from the player.

* Target stats at level 150. Adjust based on your current progress.

Courage at 40 is critical because fists burn through Ki extremely fast with their rapid combos. High Courage ensures your Ki recovers quickly between attack strings so you can re-engage immediately. Strength at 35 provides the primary damage scaling for fists and general melee damage. Heart at 20 gives a reasonable Ki pool, and Stamina at 20 lets you wear medium armor without tanking your agility. Constitution is low at 15 because the build philosophy is to not get hit — invest in offense, win fast.

Secondary WeaponKusarigama
Armor SetRaging Bull
Guardian SpiritShirohami

Raging Bull set increases melee damage at 4 pieces and adds a damage bonus while attacking at 6 pieces. Both effects reward the constant-aggression playstyle the fists demand. Shirohami guardian spirit provides a Ki recovery bonus and increases damage when attacking aggressively (health above 70%), directly synergizing with the hit-and-run approach. The Kusarigama secondary gives you a ranged option for enemies that are too dangerous at fist range, like fire-breathing Yokai.

Skills

  • Flux II — essential for Ki recovery during stance switches
  • Grapple — execute downed or Ki-broken enemies for massive damage
  • Ki Pulse: Man — Ki Pulse on dodge in Mid Stance
  • Fists Mastery — passive fist damage increase
  • Unbroken — extended combo string from Low Stance

Playstyle Tips

  • 1.Stay aggressive — fists reward constant pressure. If you are backing away to play safe, you lose the build's primary advantage
  • 2.Low Stance dodge-attack chains are your safest damage option. Dodge through an attack, land 2-3 hits, dodge again before the enemy recovers
  • 3.Switch to High Stance only when the enemy is staggered or recovering. High Stance fist strikes are the build's burst damage but leave you committed
  • 4.Grapple every Ki-broken enemy — fist grapples deal enormous damage and chain naturally from certain combo finishers
  • 5.Use Barrier Talisman to extend your combos. With boosted Ki recovery, you can land much longer attack strings before needing to back off
  • 6.Quick-Change Scroll is not optional for this build. Your HP pool is too small to survive most boss attacks, so the second chance is mandatory
  • 7.The Kusarigama secondary is for specific matchups where fists are suicidal — large Yokai with constant AOE attacks. Do not be stubborn; swap when needed
