DLC Release Timeline
Base Game Launch
February 6, 2026 — PS5 & PC (Steam)
Full game with Sengoku, Heian, Edo, and Bakumatsu eras. Includes all 14 melee weapon types (7 Samurai + 7 Ninja), 3 ranged weapons, and 28+ boss encounters. Launched with day-one patch v1.03.
Platform Exclusivity Ends
August 6, 2026 (6 months after launch)
The six-month PS5/PC exclusivity window expires. Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2 versions have not been officially announced but are expected based on Nioh franchise history (both Nioh 1 and Nioh 2 eventually released on multiple platforms).
DLC 1 — "Hell Rising"
By end of September 2026
The first DLC expansion, titled "Hell Rising," will include a new story chapter, new weapons, and new boss encounters. Based on the Nioh franchise pattern (Nioh 2 DLC added Fists, Splitstaff, and new Guardian Spirits), expect at least one new weapon type and new armor sets. A balance patch is expected alongside the DLC release.
DLC 2 — "Bloody Insurrection"
By end of February 2027
The second and final DLC expansion, titled "Bloody Insurrection." Following the Nioh franchise tradition, this is likely to include the most challenging endgame content — new difficulty tiers, additional story chapters, new weapons, and potentially a new era to explore.
Season Pass & Digital Deluxe Edition
The Nioh 3 Season Pass includes both DLC expansions and is available as a standalone purchase or bundled with the Digital Deluxe Edition. The Digital Deluxe Edition also includes pre-purchase bonus items.
Digital Deluxe Edition includes:
- Base game (Nioh 3)
- Season Pass (DLC 1 + DLC 2)
- Pre-purchase bonus cosmetic items
What to Expect from Nioh 3 DLC
Based on the Nioh franchise history, each DLC expansion typically includes substantial content additions. Nioh 2's three DLCs each added a new weapon type, new Guardian Spirits, new story missions, new boss encounters, and increased level caps.
For Nioh 3, we can reasonably expect each DLC to include:
- New story chapters with additional narrative
- At least one new weapon type per DLC
- New boss encounters and formidable enemies
- New armor sets, Soul Cores, and Guardian Spirits
- Balance patches and quality-of-life improvements
- Increased level caps and new difficulty tiers
This page will be updated with confirmed DLC content as soon as official announcements are made. Check our patch notes page for the latest balance changes.
