Nioh 3 Trophy Guide & Platinum Roadmap
Nioh 3 has 51 trophies: 1 Platinum, 2 Gold, 10 Silver, and 38 Bronze. The good news is that there are zero missable trophies. You can replay any mission, re-fight any boss, and collect anything you missed after the credits roll. The platinum takes 50-80 hours depending on your skill level and whether you use this guide. Below is a full trophy list organized by category, a step-by-step roadmap for the most efficient platinum path, and specific tips for the trophies that trip people up.
Trophy Overview
| Category | Count | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Platinum | 1 | Earn all other trophies |
| Gold | 2 | Story completion + Platinum all Kodama |
| Silver | 10 | Boss kills, weapon proficiency, collectibles |
| Bronze | 38 | Combat feats, exploration, crafting milestones |
| Total | 51 | ~50-80 hours for platinum |
Platinum Roadmap
Follow this 4-step roadmap for the most efficient path to platinum. Steps 1 and 2 should be done naturally during your first playthrough. Steps 3 and 4 are post-game cleanup.
Step 1: Main Story (30-40 hours)
Play through the main story at your own pace. You will earn 15 trophies naturally just by defeating each main boss and completing story milestones. While playing, try to use a variety of weapon types to build proficiency (needed for "Nothing Left To Learn"). Pick up every Kodama you see, but do not backtrack for them yet. Clear sub-missions as you encounter them for bonus trophies and to unlock the Dojo missions.
Trophies earned: ~15 (story boss kills + milestones)
Step 2: Side Content During Story (5-10 hours extra)
Complete all sub-missions and Dojo missions as they unlock. The Dojo missions teach you weapon-specific techniques and count toward proficiency. Find and destroy all Crucible Spikes in each region (trophy: "Purifier"). Defeat all formidable enemies you encounter — they are marked on the map with red icons and each counts toward "Conqueror of All." Use the Hot Springs in each region for a healing trophy.
Trophies earned: ~12 (sub-missions, Dojo, exploration)
Step 3: Post-Game Cleanup (10-20 hours)
After the credits, open Mission Select to replay any main mission where you missed optional bosses. Use the Kodama Sensor skill and sweep each region for remaining Kodama (trophy: "Kodama Shepherd" requires all 150). Max out proficiency in any weapon types you neglected. The fastest way to grind proficiency is running "The Demon of the Haunting Caves" sub-mission repeatedly — it is short, dense with enemies, and every kill grants proficiency for your equipped weapon. Complete all crafting-related trophies at the Blacksmith: forge 50 items, Soul Match 20 times, and temper 30 times.
Trophies earned: ~20 (collectibles, proficiency, crafting)
Step 4: Shogun's Journey (2-3 hours)
Start New Game Plus and complete the first main mission. This unlocks "Shogun's Road" (Silver). You do not need to complete all of NG+. The first mission in Shogun's Journey is the same as the first story mission but with higher-level enemies and Divine-tier loot. If you have been following this roadmap, your level and gear should handle it comfortably. After this, your platinum should pop.
Trophies earned: ~4 (NG+ entry + remaining cleanup)

Tips for the Hardest Trophies
Nothing Left To Learn (All 14 Weapons Mastered)
Each weapon has a proficiency bar that fills as you deal damage with it. You need roughly 30,000 proficiency per weapon type to max it out. The fastest method: equip the weapon you need to level, set Kodama Blessing to Warrior (+8% damage), and run "The Demon of the Haunting Caves" on repeat. Each run takes 5-7 minutes and gives about 3,000-4,000 proficiency. You can also passively build proficiency by equipping two different weapon types and alternating between them during normal gameplay. Do not leave this for last — start rotating weapons during your first playthrough.
Conqueror of All (Every Boss Defeated)
This requires defeating all 12 main bosses, 8 optional bosses, and 10 formidable enemies. Main bosses are beaten through the story. Optional bosses are in sub-missions — check Mission Select for any missions marked with a red icon you have not cleared. Formidable enemies are open-world mini-bosses marked on the map. Open your region map and filter for "Formidable Foe" markers. Any you have not defeated will show a red diamond icon.
Combo Champion (50-Hit Combo)
Use Dual Swords or Tonfa in Low Stance against a large boss. Their fast attack speeds build combo counters quickly. The Dual Swords skill "Sign of the Cross" is particularly good because it hits 8 times in rapid succession. Find a boss with a long stagger state (Otoroshi is the easiest) and chain Low Stance quick attacks during their stagger. Ki Pulse with Flux to maintain Ki, then keep attacking. With Dual Swords in Low Stance, 50 hits takes about 8-10 seconds of sustained attacking.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long does it take to platinum Nioh 3?
Expect 50-80 hours for the platinum. A focused run clearing the main story takes 30-40 hours. The remaining 20-40 hours go toward side missions, all Kodama, weapon proficiency, and the Shogun's Journey (NG+) trophy. Skilled players who use guides can get it closer to 50 hours.
Are there any missable trophies in Nioh 3?
No. There are zero missable trophies. Every trophy can be earned after completing the main story. Sub-missions stay accessible, Kodama are permanently saved, and Shogun's Journey (NG+) does not lock any content from the first playthrough. You can also replay any main mission from the Mission Select menu.
Do I need to play NG+ for the platinum?
Yes. The trophy 'Shogun's Road' requires clearing the first main mission of Shogun's Journey (NG+). This is the only NG+-specific trophy. You do not need to complete all of NG+, just the first mission.
What is the hardest trophy in Nioh 3?
Most players consider 'Nothing Left To Learn' the hardest. It requires maxing out proficiency in all 14 melee weapon types, which means spending significant time with each weapon. The second hardest is 'Conqueror of All' which requires defeating every boss (main + optional + formidable) at least once.
